Financial planning? Auto Racing? Investments? Writing? All of these are part of my diverse background and come together to benefit my clients and organizations with which I volunteer.
Much like the work of managing a race team, financial planning and investing requires careful listening, preparation, looking ahead, and evaluating risk versus reward, while taking into account the temperament of the driver a.k.a. the client and that of the team members, including the planner, attorney, accountant, insurance agent, as well as family members, all of whom must work together to reach the desired goal. I work with individuals to help them understand their financial needs and to meet their financial goals. My clients come from referrals: usually individuals starting out in life, those who have sustained the loss of a loved one, or those who wish to examine their relationship with money.
There are two novels in the Racing Resort Ranch series, Virgin at the Speedway and Virgin at Sonoma, that combine mystery, lessons in financial literacy, auto racing and romance. I hope my readers will enjoy these books while they learn basic money lessons. Both of these novels are available on Amazon for paperback and ebook.
In addition, MoneySmarts4U: The Basics is a daily reading book that covers basic money management topics for high school or college students, or anyone else that missed that class. It covers money issues related to life planning such as goal setting, saving, budgeting, marriage, and charity. and is available on Amazon for ebook and paperback.
Drawing from my diverse life experiences, I have spoken about money management, investments, team building, auto racing, and women's issues to groups including the University of Texas at San Antonio, Trinity University, St. Mary's University, North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, Merrill Lynch Chairman's Club, Indianapolis Women's Club, Alpha Chi Lambda, and International Women's Forum, and interviewed on the aforementioned topics by the New York Times, ABC-Sports, ESPN, WOAI-TV, KWEX-TV, KENS-TV, KABB-TV, KTSA radio, KPFT radio, the San Antonio Express-News, the Indianapolis Star and the San Antonio Business Journal, I enjoy sharing what I have learned from my experience to help others with their own lives.
